Full Workshop Info:
Join percussionist and yoga teacher Brad Ellsworth of Druminyasa® (Wanderlust, Asheville Yoga Festival) for this special yoga & music teaching module designed for yoga & movement teachers, YTTs and sound therapists.
The therapeutic benefits of both music and yoga & mindfulness are widely documented. Everywhere we are surrounded by sound, rhythm and vibrations and we can tap into that to make our practice even more effective. During this workshop we will work on providing you the right tools to more effectively incorporate music into your classes. Topics covered include connecting rhythm of breath, heartbeat and flow to Beats Per Minute (BPM), basic time signatures, developing playlists, bringing in live music and working with musicians, when not to use music plus other related topics.
The module will include basic exercises in pranayama and sequences to music with plenty of time for Q&A, and will begin with a Druminyasa yoga and live drumming class led by In Dancing Dogs Yoga which will help frame the discussion.
This class qualifies for: 5 CEUs
TESTIMONIAL: “Having Brad join us during our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Village Yoga on the Outer Banks was such a special treat for the trainees! They all raved about the class afterwards and the presence of live drums really solidifies just how powerful of a tool music can be during a yoga practice. Brad worked with the trainees about how to integrate recorded music and instruments into a yoga practice to create an in-depth experience for the students, and a more authentic teaching platform as a teacher. I highly recommend working with Brad to create an empowering and unique mind-body experience."
