MOUNTAIN YOGA HIKE

MOUNTAIN JOURNEY Guided intermediate yoga, hiking and meditation surrounded by nature. You will drive south along the breathtaking Blue Ridge Parkway to get to this location. We’ll hike through a bit of forest and then come to an overlook where we’ll practice seated or walking meditation. We’ll hike a bit more until we reach the grassy mountain balds, where we’ll flow through 60-90 minutes of yoga surrounded by panoramic mountain views before hiking back down to the parking area. You can bring your own yoga mat or borrow one of ours plus we'll take pictures for FREE! Please arrive 5-10 minutes early. We'll meet in the parking lot at the end of FR 816; there are restrooms and a map here. Total trail length is 2-3 miles roundtrip with a bit of a rocky incline on the way up. There area public restrooms to use before or after the class here in the parking lot at the end of the road. Afterwards: Meander back towards town and enjoy some of the lookout points along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Sam Knob hike also starts close to here at the parking lot at the endt. If you want to explore a bit more, Graveyard Fields has a great waterfall and is just north of here on the Parkway at milepost 418.8 and Devil's Courthouse is just a bit further south at milepost 422.4. From Asheville: (About 35 miles) Follow the Blue Ridge Parkway south for 26.5 miles past the NC 191 Parkway intersection at the NC Arboretum. Turn right on FR 816 (there will be a sign for Black Balsam Road) just past milepost 420. Follow this road to the parking lot at the end.
