MOUNTAIN CHICKS: Jennie Lake Backpacking

-DATE: September 29- September 30 -TIME: Official meeting times TBD based on carpooling situation. Plan to meet sometime Saturday morning and stay tuned for updates. End time is also TBD. Plan to be gone all day Sunday, but we may get back earlier depending on how long it takes everyone to get off the trail! -LOCATION: Jennie Lake Trail in Lowman, Idaho! -SKILL LEVEL: Beginner/Easy-Moderate. This trail is suitable for hikers of all ages and skill levels. The trail is 9 miles round trip with about 2000ft in elevation gain. Keep in mind that carrying a pack increases the difficulty of the hike. -COST: Free- You are responsible for your own gear (including meals) for this trip. Prepare to chip in a little for gas if you plan to carpool! -CARPOOLING: If you are interested in carpooling, please send me a message on Facebook (Rhian Smith) to let me know ASAP and I will go from there. Again, be prepared to chip in a few bucks in gas money for the driver you end up riding with. -WHAT TO BRING: Below is a general packing list for this overnight backpacking trip. Please feel free to bring additional things as you see fit! (I make no claim that this is a comprehensive list but I have listed below some of the essentials to pack) Backpack Sleeping bag Sleeping pad/pillow Tent Trowel/Toilet Paper (we will all be practicing Leave No Trace principles on this trip!) Food/cookware (lunch x 2, dinner x 1, breakfast x 1, snacks as needed) -It is always wise to bring at least one extra meal and some extra snacks just in case Water Water Filtration System Hiking boots/other appropriate footwear lantern/headlamp light jacket Weather appropriate clothing Extra pair of clothing (just in case) Camera (optional) Book (optional) Bathing suit/towel (optional-if you want to jump in the lake) etc. -DO NOT BRING: Boys Children Pets -If you are bringing a friend, they MUST also register via Eventbrite!!!
