#WellnessWednesday- Yoga For Life: Week 143

Canoe Pose

Canoe pose get its name from its mother pose Navasana, or Boat Pose. Just like a canoe is a small boat, Canoe is a smaller, gentle version of a Boat Pose.  Poses that target the mid-section, such as Canoe, are ideal to practice late in the winter to help gently awaken the body from winter laziness. Less fresh food and time outdoors over the winter leads to feelings of sluggishness in the digestive system and the mood. Canoe pose helps ignite the internal fire to burn through toxins and patterns of inactivity, which helps our bodies get ready for spring and summer.
